Google Unveils Currents - News Reader Application for Smartphones


Google Currents is a new flipboard like application that delivers beautiful magazine like editions to your tablet and smartphone.  For this service Google has tied up with more than 150 publishers such as Forbes, The Guardian, ABC News, The Atlantic, CNET, Techcrunch, Saveur, Popular Science, Good, 500px, Fast Company, and more. Content is optimized for smartphones and tablets, allowing you to intuitively navigate between words, pictures and video on large and small screens. Google Currents is well designed, easy to navigate and it's been real treat to the users when they reading their favorite magazines, publications.  Each story is presented through a fresh edition of articles, videos, and pictures.  Google Currents is integrated with Google+ so users can share articles, videos with their circles.  The great thing about this service is you can even read your favorite magazines offline and moreover it's free to subscribe.  Google Currents uses Google search technology to hourly build a set of editions tracking the five most recent trending stories in categories such as world, entertainment, sports, science, and more.  You can even turn your Google Reader subscriptions, or any of your favorite blogs/feeds into a beautiful edition with a magazine feel. 


All you have to do is just download the Google Current application and look for your favorite publications and subscribe for free. You can also add RSS, video and photo feeds, public Google+ streams and Google Reader subscriptions you’re already following.
